Properties
Polypropylene is a material of the lowest density from widely used polymers. It shows a high chemical resistance, especially at room temperature, almost complete resistance to acids, alkalines, salts and organic solvents. At elevated temperatures, PP dissolves in aromatic hydrocarbons (such as benzene), esters and ketones. It has good air permeability and low permeability of steam. It is physiologically inert material and easy for processing, but is recomended to avoid temperatures exceeding 270°C, as it is causing rapid degradation process.
Polypropylene homopolymer is a partially crystalline material. The density of 0.91 g/cm3. The melting point of approximately 160 ° C. Tough, resistant to the formation of tension cracks. Resistant to low temperatures. Below 0°C shows a significant decrease in toughness. It is aged by light, UV radiation.
Temperature range for continuous operation from 0 ° C to +100 ° C.
Moulding shrinkage: 1,5 - 3,0%
Application:
Enclosures appliances, dishes, containers, connectors, splitters, traps, automotive parts, batteries, fans, food packaging, covers, fasteners, handles, hinges, spoilers, lining, fenders, filters, membranes.
Processing:
Permissible moisture content for processing: ~0,10 %
Processing temperature: 200-270°C
The mold temperature: 40-80°C
